Embarking on a journey across continents on a bicycle is a dream for many, but for this family, it’s now a reality. Imagine the thrill of pedaling through landscapes that shift from the cobblestone streets of Europe to the lush greenery of Southeast Asia, with the open road as your guide and your family by your side. This is not just a cycling trip; it’s a journey of discovery, bonding, and the ultimate adventure.

In this podcast episode, I sit down with Pascale, Alex, Rosalie, Elliot and Henri who have taken the leap to explore the world on two wheels. From the logistical challenges of coordinating a year-long trip to the personal growth that comes with such an undertaking, this family shares it all. With three teenagers in tow, they’re not just traversing geographic boundaries; they’re breaking through the limitations of what family travel can be.

What was evident during the discussion is just how much taking a trip like this together has helped the family to bond even more.  I was especially impressed with the maturity  each of three young adults of the group spoke with as well. It’s pretty clear taking a trip like this together has brought them closer as a family unit and also imparted life skills which will stay with them forever.

Their story is one of courage, resilience, and the joy of the unexpected. Whether it’s finding a warm shower host who turns into a lifelong friend or overcoming the frustration of a broken bike part in a foreign land, every day brings a new lesson. And through it all, the family grows closer, their bonds strengthened by shared experiences that most can only dream of.
