Cycling along the Annecy Rail Trail to Albertville
The Annecy Rail Trail is a great option if you are after a ride with little climbing. If you are traveling with younger children it is also a good route which is totally off the road and away from cars. The trail is well signposted and easy to find just continue on the cycle path which runs alongside Lake Annecy. These cycling greenways are very popular and as such there are always plans for expansions. In this case, the plan is to extend the cycle path to loop entirely around Lake Annecy and remove the need to ride on the road and mix with motorized traffic.
If you are up for a longer ride you can choose to continue on past the end of the Annecy rail trail and ride all the way to Albertville. You will be on a road for the last few km/mi leading you into the village but in the main, it is fairly quiet. There is good signage at the end of the Greenway which points out the way into Albertville itself. Albertville also provides you with a good place to stop and have lunch.
